Dog Mom Day (also known as National Dog Mom Day and World Dog Mom Day) was founded in 2015 and is celebrated worldwide on July 1st annually to celebrate Dog Moms everywhere...whether you have human kids or not, being a Dog Mom can be just as awesome AND just as challenging. To most of us, our dogs are our kids. We work just as hard to raise well mannered fur kids, as moms do human ones. We love our dogs with all of our heart, because they love us unconditionally. We rescue them...because they rescue us. They bring us joy and give us courage. They also bring us the shoes they chew up and give us a test of patience when they pee on the new throw... but they're right along side us, to traverse this crazy world we live in. So today, we celebrate YOU... for all you do. Thank you for being a Dog Mom...for your unending patience, love .....and forgiveness for the dog hair on
e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g you own.
Adopt a new fur kid if you can!
Dog Mom Day was founded by Pet & Family Lifestyle Expert, Human Mom & Dog Mom, Colleen Paige to celebrate the bond between women and their dogs and help promote dog adoption. She is also the founder of National Dog Day, National Cat Day and many more holidays to celebrate pets and promote pet adoption.
“Oh well that’s my heart, my golden retriever. Pontiac was trained to be a guide dog, but he had a bum leg, which got him out of that program. Whenever I come home late from work at night, I come up to the house and here’s this big golden head in the window on the left stairway landing, looking out and waiting for me. I sit down on the couch and he’ll bring me one of his dead snowmen. A friend sent him a stuffed snowman one time and it just became his passion. So then a friend sent him a whole box of snowmen. We have regular snowstorms in the living room when he shakes all the stuffing out.”
